| Presentations, Classroom & Library VisitsIn celebration of the release of my new book, Maze Zing: Junk Drawer Jewels, I am making myself available for small group presentations in schools and other organizations. If you are interested, please call me at (845)361-2029 for details. Make your own bookThere are many possibilities for educational, motivational, hands-on presentations in my profession. One is to work with children to create an actual book. In my computer business, I create hard-cover books from personal photographs and writings that individuals bring to me. This is a great learning opportunity for children. I will bring my photography and computer equipment to the classroom and lead the children in designing a book from their own writings and photographs. Depending on the age of the children, this exercise can be used to teach writing, interviewing, photography, and much more. After deciding on a topic with the teachers, I will work with the children by putting their work into a book form. This could be poems or stories that the children have written or a story that the group worked on together. It could also be photographs that the children have taken or photographs that a teacher has taken of the children. It could be drawings or paintings as well. All writings and images could flow together to form a story or it could simply be a conglomeration of different stories, poems, photos and drawings from the children. Depending on age and time constraints, I could show how the pages are formed using computer software, the children could design the pages themselves, or I could put them together at my office. The final product will be a hard-cover book made by the children. The book is of high quality and can be placed in the school library to be checked out by other students. If parents would like a copy, or if more copies are needed for the library or other class rooms, multiple copies of the book can be ordered at a reasonable price.
